Though I am passionate about color, line, and shape, my work really emerges from a desire to connect with myself. Painting is an act of exploration, and I have found abstraction to be the most efficient way to address the complexities of time and space. Acrylic is my primary medium, often enhanced by the use of charcoal, pencils, pastels, and collage to tell a story or express a feeling. I use brushes, palate knives, forks, combs, and pretty much any object within reach that will make the mark I seek. Painting is a process of putting down marks, adding to, subtracting from, and working toward an as-yet-unknown finish. It is pleasure, frustration, uplifting, and reflective. I strive to be revealing, personal, honest, and sometimes fun.
